Assigning an app owner

Overview

Every SaaS application must be assigned an owner. This individual serves as the primary point of contact for any inquiries concerning that particular application. Whether it's about the purpose of the app, the reasons behind increased expenses in a given month, or the decision to renew the application, the owner is responsible for providing answers.

The owner can either be someone from the relevant business unit or, in certain cases, someone appointed from the IT department.

Failure to assign owners to applications can lead to a precarious situation where control over your SaaS ecosystem might slip away. Let's take a look at how you can assign or reassign application owners on Spendflo.

Assign or reassign an app owner

Step 1. Navigate to Insights on the navigation bar, click on “Apps” to get started.

Step 2. On the listing table, find the owner column to proceed.

Step 3. Hover on the column without an app owner assigned to assign a new one. An edit button will appear. Click on it.

Step 4. Type in the name of the owner to assign and press enter to complete the steps.

Step 5. For apps with a prior owner assigned, the reassignment can be done. Repeat from step 3 by hovering over the name.

Step 6. Click on the edit button, search for the name and press enter to finish the steps.

This is how the application can be assigned or reassigned. To learn more about similar apps and user overlap, click here.
